Protecting the health and well being of our children is a fundamental value within the familyWe all want our children to live safely and healthilyWhile great progress in protecting children has been made, real risks remain. These risks include nutrition, increasing chronic illness such as infectious diseases, violence and abuse and potential environmental hazards, to name only a few.
Childhood obesity is at epidemic proportions. Today, 1 in 5 children is overweight or obese and this obesity continues into adulthood to put individuals at risk for stroke, hypertension, diabetes and other chronic diseases.
ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is one of the most common neurobehavioral disorders of childhood and can persist through adolescence and into adulthood. We are gaining a better understanding of how the brain works, the role of food intolerances and of the vital importance diet and nutrition in ADHD symptoms.
Autism is on the increaseLittle is known about what causes ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), although genetic and environmental factors are suggested. Although there is no cure for ASD, early and intensive education can help children develop skills and nutritional intervention and supplementation has so far proven to aid and improve the severity of the condition. |
