Weight control
To most people, the term "obesity" means to be very overweight. Health professionals define "overweight" as an excess amount of body weight that includes muscle, bone, fat, and water. "Obesity" specifically refers to an excess amount of body fat. Some people, such as bodybuilders or other athletes with a lot of muscle, can be overweight without being obese.

Genetic factors can be one of the many causes of obesity

Others include physical factors – too much TV watching, physical inactivity, excess starch in the diet, food with low vital force, a low metabolismAlso certain disease states, candidiasis, parasites, digestive problems, food and environmental allergies and sensitivities and environmental poisons (enzyme inhibitors).

Emotional and mental factors also influence eating habitsNegative emotions such as boredom, sadness or anger, or other psychological problems.

Social factors also play a part in difficulties in managing our weightFood is often used as the centre for social affairs. Business breakfasts, lunches, dinners, etc. Eating can often carry a sense of social obligation.

Fifty-five percent of Westerners are overweight, and 20 percent of those are considered obese, meaning that they have a body-mass index of 30 or higher. The prevalence of obesity has increased by about 50 percent in the past decade. Obesity increases the risk of coronary heart disease, diabetes, stroke, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure.




How To Get Past a Weight Loss Plateau

Everyone who has ever been on a diet has hit a plateau at some point. It is that point where no matter what you do, you cannot seem to lose any weight. I myself have hit many of these and I am going to give you a few ways to blast through your weight loss plateau.

Depending on what type of weight loss plan you are on and how much weight loss you have attained already, these factors can play a significant role in halting your weight loss.
